I think 2". My buddy and I am going to make a brand new exhaust from manifolds back, and increase y-pipe to 2.5", and collectors to muffler *no caty pipes - Moparchat - Home of MOPAR enthusiasts worldwide! (13) y pipes - Moparchat - Home of MOPAR enthusiasts worldwide! (14)* 3", dual 2.5 out. This isn't mandrel bent, so I shouldn't suffer too much torque loss. I should gain some.

tobs440, I am not sure about your truck, but I can tell you about mine. I am pretty sure your exhaust is the same. My 00 R/T had a 2" Y pipe from the factory. When I removed it to install the JBA Y, I cut a cross section in one of the factory bends. It measured 1 9/16" across. That was good enough for me! The JBA is a mandrel bent 2" pipe all the way. I also ran a "back pressure" test on my truck. At 5000 RPM, WOT, I had 3/4 pound of back pressure in the exhaust. In my opinion, it doesn't get much better than that.

Tom, if you are going to mess with the Y-pipe, put on headers at the same time b/c the BIGGEST pain in the but we getting the freakin manifold and y-pipe flange to separate.

I ended up removing the skid plate, mount and cutting the Y-pipe with a hacksaw (tiny pipe btw) and dropping the manifold/half pipe combo to break them apart. This is on a 99, yours will be even more "fused" after time.

I don't have the Y-pipe yet (just a re-welded piece of junk) but a local junior college shop can probably fabricate one to your specs. Find a welding class at the JC, give them a project.

as long as if the headers "are a stock fit".... they should bolt in with too much of custom fitting them....
