What can I do at a U.S. Bank ATM? Now, more than ever, you can do so much more than withdraw cash from an ATM. Most U.S. Bank ATMs let you check your account balances, deposit cash and checks, transfer money between accounts, make payments and reset your card PIN.

Can you deposit cash at an ATM that isn't your bank? Most banks don't allow you to deposit cash at an ATM that's out-of-network. The banks that do accept cash deposits through out-of-network ATMs often charge an extra fee — and, typically, require longer processing periods.

If you deposit cash, that money goes directly to your account and will be ready for you to use immediately. But for checks and other items that might need verification (to protect you and the bank), the money usually won't be available until the next business day.

ATMs are usually only able to dispense bills in denominations of $20. Similarly, you're able to withdraw amounts from your account in many different common denominations.

Fees for using the machines will be the same as at traditional ATMs, free for customers and $3 for out-of-network transactions. Company spokespersons told TODAY that Chase has deployed about 400 of the machines in the past year-and-a-half, and PNC has upgraded over 3,600 to dispense $1 and $5 bills.
